MDOT intends to build a solid and robust engagement and outreach program, including training and matchmaking,
to maximize opportunities for local participation in the 375 project. This commitment includes the outreach and effort to recruit certified small businesses and appropriate training.
Meeting Presentations & Summaries

The second of four Business and Workforce Development Forums was held on April 3rd, 2024. The purpose of this meeting was to connect with small and disadvantaged businesses by providing project updates and learning about project DBE goals, the status of the Progressive Design-Build procurement, MDOT capacity assessments during the DBE Certification process, and its Mentor-Protégé Program. Attendees also participated in breakout sessions presented by MDOT staff to learn more about requirements for pre- qualifications for vendors, consultants, and contractors.

The third of four Business and Workforce Development Forums was held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Wayne County Community College District – Curtis L. Ivery Campus. The forum connected with small and disadvantaged businesses through breakout sessions on How to Become Certified, Financial Services and Tools, General Project Needs, Timeline, and Bid/Quote Solicitation, and PDB Team and Qualified Small Business Firms Matchmaking.
