As part of the 375 Project, phase one included construction of a new storm sewer outfall along Schweizer Place, between Woodbridge Street and the Detroit River. The new system replaces the existing combined sewer outfall that discharged untreated stormwater and wastewater directly into the river during certain wet weather events.
Construction began in October 2025 and was completed in April 2026, with minor restoration work finalized following the 2026 Detroit Grand Prix. The completed outfall is an important project benefit and infrastructure improvement that helps protect the Detroit River while supporting the project’s goals and future corridor development.
